Description:   Cyma kantharos with molded pedestal foot, flat resting surface, domed undersurface, ovoid body with max. diam. below median of body, flaring tapered lip, vertical spur handle. Similar to C-60-70 (Corinth VII.3, p. 79, no. 404, pl. 52) and C-47-123.
Decoration:   Black glaze over all interior and exterior, reserved resting surface, red miltos band on pedestal of foot, incised Doric frieze in lower half of handle zone delineated by two grooves, finely incised knotted necklace in upper half of handle zone with leaves in added white, incised horizontal ladder below rim. Similar to C-46-108 (Corinth VII.3, p. 86, no. 494, pl. 39) and C-47-92 for necklace. Similar to C-47-356 (Corinth VII.3, p. 79, no. 396, pl. 39) and C-47-357 (Corinth VII.3, p. 79, no. 397, pl. 39) for Doric frieze.
Material:   Fine very pale brown clay.
Munsell Color:   10YR 7/4 (very pale brown)
Condition:   Complete profile. Several joining fragments, preserving complete foot, two thirds of the body, one third of rim, one handle. Surface worn, glaze almost completely worn, added white completely worn away, preserved miltos on pedestal of foot.
