Description:   Skyphos with short vertical ring foot, flat undersurface, rounded resting surface, shallow globular body, tall flaring rim, tapered lip; composite handles with horizontal loops attached to body and vertical straps rising from midpoint of horizontal and attached at the rim. Profile similar to Kerameikos 2144 (Coldstream, Greek Geometric Pottery, 1968, pl. 3j), handles similar to W 10 (Corinth VII.1, p. 14, no. 45, pl. 8).
Decoration:   Self slipped and black glazed over all interior and exterior. Resting surface and undersurface of foot reserved, reserved rectangular panel between handles with six zig zag lines framed by two reserved bands on bottom and two vertical bands on each side, two reserved bands around exterior rim, interior rim reserved with groups of twelve vertical bars at regular intervals around rim, small reserved circle at center of interior floor (Diam. 0.009). Underside of horizontal handles reserved, underside of vertical handles painted, reserved band on body immediately underneath horizontal handles, upperside of handes reserved, vertical bars between horizontal lines framed by reserved bands on horizontal handles, bisected herringbone on vertical handles. Decoration similar to Kerameikos 867 (Coldstream, Greek Geometric Pottery, 1968, pl. 3e).
Material:   Fine reddish yellow clay with rare medium black and red rounded, few medium gold mica, rare medium angular white inclusions, and few medium angular voids.
Munsell Color:   Surface: 7.5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow), Core: 7.5YR 6/6 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Complete or intact. Intact except for four chips of the floor of the vessel and several around the rim. Glaze well preserved, blackened on one half of interior and exterior.

Findspot Description:   Vessel was found south of the sarcophagus and the large vertical stone slab within the cave-like niche of GR 2006-4. It was to the south of krater C 2006 5, under plate C 2006 9.
