Title:   MIDDLE HELLADIC MATT-PAINTED SPOUTED JUG

Description:   Beaked jug. Flat base, globular body with sloping shoulder and slightly flaring neck. Inside can see where neck added on to body it is lumpy - obviously clay for neck added and smoothed on already thrown body.
Decoration:   Exterior painted, maybe slipped. Two bands below maximum diameter of body, below decorative zone. Main zone has motif of multiple triangles which overlap at the top to form a sort of cross-hatching (Buck Hesp. 1964 Motif 44 "Multiple triangles in a row"). Two bands at base of neck.

Munsell Color:   Surface: 7.5 YR 8/2 (pinkish white), Core: 7.5 YR 8/2 (pinkish white), Paint 7.5 YR 4/2 (brown)
Condition:   Fragment. 7 joining fragments preserve 1/3 of base, 1/3 of body, none of rim or handles

Findspot Description:   = "1/2 jug from betw Doll's house & F" in Corinth Pottery Inventory I (CWB), p. 29 no. 7; presumably "Doll's house" refers to House B, and of the baskets known to us this basket best fits this description.
