Description: | Large restored portion of so-called "rugose" ware baking pan; large slightly convey base with flaring edge from which side of vessel rises through slight concavity out to simple flat-rounded rim- except at one segment where rim thickens, flattens, and descends, presumably to form a handle (like a modern frying pan, Blegen observes). Rather prous fabric smoothed only in and out. | |
