Description:   FS 299 - spouted bowl. Base not preserved. Convex body to rounded outturned thickened lip. Spout broad with thin lipless rim on one side, almost horizontal but slightly rising. Two vertical strap handles attached at rim and middle of body, attachments of both handles preserved. Rutter 1974 p. 370 says base incorrectly restored as flat.
Decoration:   Entire surface painted monochrome red on interior and exterior.
Material:   hard fine pink buff clay
Munsell Color:   Core 3.75 YR 6/8 (light red/reddish yellow), Paint 1.25 YR 4/8 (red)
Condition:   Fragment. 35 joining fragments preserve 2/3 of body, 1/2 spout, 1/3 handle, 90% of rim
Dimensions Actual:   length from rim to spout 0.30
Dimensions Preserved:   max. p. H. 0.145, p.diam. rim 0.235
