Description: | Terracotta solid handmade flutist from group of dancers moving in circle with arms joined around central standing flutist. Dancer has cylindrical body, flaring at bottom. Flutist has wide flat strip of clay applied tightly around front of head as polos, clay overfold from back to front as head, additional wide clay strip across face covering edge of two strips of short double flute jutting out at angle, broad short neck, round strips of arms attached at shoulder curving forward, rounded hands curl around bottom of each flute, rt hand much lower than lt, upper body tilted backward slightly, cylindrical body flaring as attaches to base. Flat circular base, slightly concave, with pared and smoothed edge. Fingerprints on body and base. Similar to KT2-5 and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4). | |
