Description: | Terracotta solid handmade group of four dancers moving in circle with arms joined around flutist standing in center. Two dancers have wide flat strip of clay applied around front of head as polos, clay overfold from back to front as head, semi-circular face, and broad short neck. Each has flattened chest, short flat strips as arms, joining dancers, upper body tilted outward slightly, cylindrical body flaring as attaches almost seamlessly to base. Flat circular base, slightly concave underneath central figure, with pared and smoothed edge. Fingerprints over whole piece. Similar in size and style to KT2-11 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 8 pl. 4) and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4). | |
