Possibly part of an iron tripos support for a cauldron (as the La Garenne tripod, Lamb, "Greek and Roman Bronzes", fig.8). Other iron pieces from similarly early fill - 7th to 6th century B.C. - were found in pottery Lot 72-176, but they were not together with bronze. This iron ring was found with a large quantity of bronze, some of it certainly from cauldrons.
