Description:   Under life-size head, detached from relief, worked 3/4 in round. Head tilted to proper rt. Hair tied by fillet, wrapped twice around head. Hair parted in center with flat roll of wavy locks circling head, strands cut by flat (?). Over crown flat wavy locks pulled back; 2 corkscrew curls beforeeach ear. Squarish face with broad forehead, eyebrows underlined by groove; deepset eyes with drill hole at inner corner, flat pupil deeply recessed under thick upper lid. Hollow under eyes, flat cheeks, straight nose. Small bow mouth, upper edge of lip not defined; lips separated by channel, drill at either corner; rasping on underside of jaw; ears half covered, summarily carved. Neck smooth. Skin partly finely smoothed and lightly polished.
Material:   Very fine-crystalled white marble.
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., head and part of neck; detached from background at back; large chip in lt. temple; tip of nose chipped.
