Description:   Fragment deriving from under life-size free-standing group. Fragment preserves neck of a horse, rising from low plinth, with scar on front of head that possibly bent downward. Horse not quite fully frontal but turned out slightly to proper rt. In back, several long wavy strands, perhaps from mane locks ? beside which roughly picked surface. At base of neck ring of upright water leaves, rising from plinth, with tips of petals bent down. Along back lt. side of neck is a broken surface that also interrupts ring of leaves and continues onto plinth, possibly leg of standing figure. Plinth low, top and vertical face smoothed, bottom roughly picked with some oblique strokes. Surfaces worked with flat chisel.Possibly from group of Dioskouroi.

Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving horse's neck, plinth, part of proper right edge; broken at back, above, to proper lt. Back and proper rt. Side of neck heavily calcined.
