Description: | Under life-size head of Eros, possibly tilted to proper lt., since that shoulder higher. Hair pulled in long braid along crown with small knot above forehead; 2 shallow curls on forhead in low relief curl out from center; rest of hair arranged in curly locks to top of neck, strands facetted with flat chisel, each ending in drilled curl; lock before each ear, row of curls in back. Heart-shaped face with nearly pointed chin; sloping forehead, shallow-set large eyes, narrow ridge for upper lid, tiny drill at inner corners, irises not rendered; snub nose, drilled nostrils, fat cheeks, small smiling mouth with parted lips, drill hole at corners. Ears well modeled with drilled canal, and drill separating tragus and antitragus. Surface of face carefully smoothed but not polished. | |
