Description:   Head of girl, with hair arranged in flat, scalloped waves lying close to face, thick 4-strand braid surrounding head, criss-crossing in back and probably fastened there in knot. Head inclines slightly to lt. Broad forehead, smooth cheeks, round small chin; eyes large, wideset; drilled inner corners; inner sides of eyeballs incised; upper lid projects strongly over flat eyeball. Eyebrows lightly hatched. Mouth small, corners drilled, lips parted by drilled groove; small depression under lower lip. Flesh polished; claw chisel behind ears; top, back of hair roughly worked with flat.
Material:   Fine-crystalled white marble.
Condition:   Fragment. Originally head and top of neck, single frgt.; missing nose; ears, mouth, face chipped; chip from top rt. side of head; surface worn, stained, and encrusted; Post-theft: neck broken into four pieces around modern hole for support.
