Description:   Female breast draped in thin, clinging chiton. Broad, very shallow ribbon-like folds radiate from shoulder area, indicating that it was pinned there. The folds from the center of this area begin to descend vertically and then follow the contour of the breast. On either side of these slightly thicker folds radiate out diagonally. The central folds which follow the contours are intersected and overlapped by similar broad, flat folds that begin falling vertically, then curve slightly inward, following the contour of the underside of the breast. Rasp marks visible on drapery. Probably proper right breast of Venus Genetrix. Cf. Bieber, Ancient Copies pl. 23.
Material:   Fine white marble with occasional gray streaks.
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving proper lt. Side of breast (prob. Rt. Breast); side missing just top proper rt. Of nipple. Surface slightly abraded.
