Description:   Green faience scarab, longitudinally pierced. R. Young, in consultation with Alan Schulman (in Blegen et al. [1964] Corinth 13, p. 61) dates scarab to 18th or 26th dynasty based on impression; latter contemporary with published dating of grave. Cf. T.H.G. James 1961, Perachora 2, cats. D521-7 of very similar composition. Possibly assignable to A.F. Gorton 1996, Mediterranean Scarabs group XXIIIC.
Writing:   inscribed. On underside, from right to left, MAAT feather; at left facing it standing sphinx, tail raised, head bearded, wearing so-called ATEF crown; sun disk above back of sphinx. Between sphinx and MAAT, NEB signs standing on end.
Material:   Green faience.
Condition:   Complete or intact. Complete. Worn near head on front and left sides.
