Description:   Thin slab, back surface sawn smooth; edges roughly picked. Face decorated in low relief with a griffin directed lt. Preserved are the tip of one ear at upper lt. break, and 2 sickle-shaped wings, placed one behind other; on each wing stepped feathers, five on lt. wing, four on rt., tapering from bottom to tip. None of body preserved. To lower rt. long tail extending out to rt., curving up along rt. edge and curling back in and down, ending in long wavy strands. Background coarsely finished with claw chisel.
Material:   Fine white marble.
Condition:   Complete profile. Originally four joining frgts., in 2001: 15 in all, giving full ht., most of right and top edge, broken at lower right corner, upper lt. and missing most of lower lt. triangle.
