The shoulder is nearly horizontal with a sharp downward curve at the lower edge of the sherd. Perhaps from an amphora of Panathenaic shape, like those of the Berlin painter: Cf. Beazley (1930), Der Berliner Maler, pl. 8.; ; At the left of the sherd, the upper front part of a satyr's face. The tip of his pointed ear and the start of his beard, appear next to the break at the left. At the right and at the bottom are further traces of the picture. On his bald forehead, several lines of the preliminary sketch, done with a dry point. Around it, a wreath or fillet, nearly all worn away, once red.; ; No relief contour; the eye and nostril are outlined with a relief line; the eyebrow is painted with a relief line in the middle of a broad brush stroke. All the glaze of the drawing has fired a lightish brown, as has the reserving stripe around the profile. The glaze of the background is a fine hard black, with small metallic splotches.","9 March 1933","Agora:Object:P 1463","","Agora","Agora:Image:2000.01.1408::/Agora/2000/2000.01/2000.01.1408.tif::550::460",""
