Title:   Column Drum with Mason's Mark: Ionic

Description:   Top drum, without flutes. On both the top and bottom the smooth dressed original outer joint surface stands out from the roughly reworked inner area. On the top a carefully cut mason's mark. Empolion cutting in top 0.075m. x 0.08m. x 0.06m. deep; in bottom 0.09m. x 0.09m. x 0.06m. deep.
Dull white marble with dark bands.
Reused from the Temple of Athena at Sounion, probably in the Southeast Temple of the Agora. Probably to be associated with A 1597.
