Description:   Complete except for chips. Mended from six pieces. Plain shaft, without flutes, Ionic rather than Corinthian because of presumed association with capital formed in area (A 4434 and A 4435). On either side, vertical cuttings apparently intended to receive a parapet. Surface somewhat weathered. Trace of ancient repair, a Π-clamp in one of parapet cuttings.
Thought to be from second story of street stoa.
Blue Hymettian marble.
Context:   Found broken up and reused as cover slabs for drain under N.-S. street.
