Title:   Ship's Eye Fragment
Category:   Architecture Marble
Description:   Mended from two pieces, the fragment preserves the outer left corner of a ship's eye.
Low raised border for eyelid, edge straight. Interior surface flat.
Upper surface polished, back flat and roughly picked.
Cf. A 4804 and A 3811.
Fine white marble with orange stain in the back.
Notes:   Basket 62 (larger fragment), Basket 67 (smaller fragment).
Conservation Status:   Finished
Context:   Late floor, Layer VII (Surface IV, fill). Below surface IV, beneath depression with marble chips; Late floor, Layer VIIIB (smaller fragment).
