Small segment of rim and flange of lid (a) and about one-third of circumference of pyxis rim (b).

Lid has vertical rim and domed top offset from flange. Trace of inwardly projecting flange on rim of pyxis. On lid, black dots on upper surface of flange and tan band at outer edge of flange. On pyxis, reddish brown band at lip, with thinner line below. Hard, fine, very micaceous, light reddish yellow fabric (5YR 6/6) with a few large white inclusions; very pale brown slip (10YR 8/3) on top and on lower surface of flange of lid, on exterior and upper interior of pyxis. Slip is hard on pyxis, dull on lid.

Although of the same fabric and diameter, the two may not be a pair; rim of lid is not high enough to rest on flange inside rim of pyxis.
