Part of rim and upper wall.

Two grooves at base of flaring rim with molded, overhanging lip.

Outer edge of molding stamped with ovolo; flat top of rim stamped with false guilloche; ridge between the two is stamped with circles.

Attachment for horizontal handle, round in section, at top of wall.

Fairly micaceous, hard, fine, gray/light gray fabric (10YR 6/1); glaze mottled dark gray to grayish brown (2.5Y N4/--10YR 5/2).

Nearly identical: P 6039, from mixed Hellenistic and Roman fill at C 15. Similar but larger: P 22235, from O--P 16. See also 1707--1709. Fabric close to that of 1599.
