Stamped Plate.

About half of foot and floor preserved.

Deep plate or shallow bowl. Angular ring foot; beveled resting surface; slightly pointed underside. Two radiating palmette stamps (probably originally four) within rouletting; at center, comic slave mask. Gritty, micaceous, reddish yellow fabric (5YR 6/6); dull red glaze.

Another fragment (P 4195) with an identical stamp at the center of the floor has very micaceous, reddish yellow fabric (5YR 6/6) and brown glaze. The occurrence of two pieces clearly from the same workshop leaves open the possibility that they are Attic, but the fabric and glaze do not appear to be local.
