Shoulder and body fragment mended from several fragments and strengthened with plaster. Two mastoi and start of handle at turn of shoulder. P.H. 0.08; rest. diam. 0.132. J. R. Green, Hesperia 31, 1962, pl. 29:4.

Chariot of Athena(?) to left. The fragment preserves the heads of the four horses, positioned in such a manner that the team was probably seen in three-quarter view. The right-hand trace horse has a bit burr. At their heads stands a youth preserved from about the waist up, who looks like Hermes, except that he does not have his kerykeion, although he wears a chlamys and petasos. At the far right (not illustrated), part of the charioteer (drapery and what looks like the tail of a helmet crest). Dilute glaze: hair. White (flaked): contour of petasos; reins; part of harness ornament.

For the bit burrs attached to the headstalls of the harness, see 96.
