Wall fragment with start of shoulder. Burned (clay and white ground are slightly grayish). Max. dim. 0.074.

Youth (head) to right. Above, three lines. On the shoulder, part of tendril from ornamental configuration. Preliminary sketch (reddish): profile. Matte drawing: figure; shoulder ornament.

The head of the youth seems to bear some resemblance to that on Marburg 1016 by the Bird Painter (ARV2 1233, 19; Addenda 352). Not from the same lekythos as 847, which has matte red on the shoulder; 848 has gray.
