Title:   Straight-sided Alabastron: Patterned

Description:   Fragmentary Mycenaean pyxis, handle partly preserved. Buff clay, red paint. Decorated with horizontal bands and stylized leaf pattern.
ADDENDA 2018: Fifteen sherds mended into three non-joining fragments partially restored in plaster of a large straight-sided alabastron with a flat base and one partially preserved basket handle.
The exterior decoration consists of at least one medium band on the shoulder and two medium bands at the top and bottom of the side wall. The body is decorated with stylized ivy motif. The base is undecorated as preserved. The basket handle is monochrome.
The paint is thick, although somewhat unevenly applied and badly worn in places, fired red to dark brown. There are no traces of use-wear or burning.
