Title:   Krater Fragment: Patterned

Description:   Fragment of a krater. Buff clay; red glaze decoration.
Cf. Belongs with AP 2622, 2623 and 2624.
ADDENDA 2018: Twenty four sherds mended into four non-joining sections of a large krater with rounded rim with flattened lip. No other features are preserved.
The exterior decoration consists of a painted lip and a medium band below the rim. There is Lefkandi banding running below the handle zone. In the handle zone the decoration is panelled, consisting of a wide central triglyph with isolated semicircle fill. There are traces compatible with tricurved arch flanking the central triglyph.
The interior is undecorated other than a painted lip to the rim. The paint is thick and fairly evenly applied, but has been fired unevenly from red to brown to black. There are minor traces of use-wear on the interior of the rim, consisting of shallow vertical scratches. There are no traces of burning.
