Title:   Kalathos Fragment: Linear
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Rim fragment from ball shaped bowl with flat rim projecting in ward and flat base. Brownish black paint with red streaks on pinkish buff.
ADDENDA 2018: Five fragments mended into three non-joining sections of a large-sized kalathos with rounded rim. One fragment preserves part of a horizontal handle attachment.
The decoration is linear on the exterior and interior. The exterior has a narrow lip-band and two narrow bands running below the handle.
The interior features a solid band covering the upper surface of the rim and continuing into the interior of the bowl with a second medium band running below it. The handle preserves at least one splash and was probably tri-splashed.
The paint is fairly evenly applied, although there is some streakiness. The firing is somewhat uneven ranging from red to dark brown. There are no trace of use-wear or burning.
