Description: | Found stamped into the earth in a very ruined condition. A rectangular frame of ivory can be seen which was filled with squares of ivory. Around this inner frame would have gone another rectangle (of which fragments can be seen) and the space between the two rectangles also filled with ivory squares. Inner rectangle front has two parallel grooves in it ruinning all around it. Traces of fine rasp work can be seen on back of most of the pieces. From a cabinet door (?) | |
