Description: | Inscribed relief. Left lower corner broken off; upper right corner damaged; most of the head of the standing figure broken away. Back and sides smooth finished. A small rectangular plaque; the background of the relief sunk ca. 0.005m. from the narrow plain frame. In low relief, a standing male figure, wearing a short-sleeved straight chiton, reaching to his knees; the head and feet turned left, the body frontal. The left arm hangs at the side; the right arm is extended to left, and the hand holds an uncertain object (racer's torch?). The flesh parts are modelled; the chiton left flat, save for a collar-like roll at the neck. Near bottom, four-five poor shallow-cut letters remain. Pentelic marble. | |
