Description:   Inscribed base from bronze statue.
Tall pedestal crowned by cyma recta inscribed on front of die. Cuttings in top for two human feet, two dowels to the foot, and a small round bedding near the front right corner.
Statue was removed by chiselling under the feet, outer edge and prying.
Rectangular holes 0.06 X0.03 X0.06m. deep; round holes 0.05 X0.03m. deep.
Pentelic marble.
Context:   Found in exploratory pit opened by engineers along east face of the south gate-tower of the late Roman Fortification, near southwest corner of the Stoa of Attalos; it formed part of lowest course of masonry.
