Title:   Inscribed and Sculpted Marble Stele

Description:   Complete except for a large piece missing at lower left.
A large marble stele, decorated on the upper part by a life-sized hoplite shield, sculpted in relief. Below is a fascia, surmounting an ovolo moulding, and on the face beneath a three-line inscriptions:
ΠΥΡΡΑΛΕΥΣ / ΠΥΡΡΟΥ / ΓΑΡΓΗΤΤΙΟΣ
Surface finished with a claw chisel.
Hymettian marble.
Notes:   Found in 2017. Catalogued July 15, 2020.
Context:   Reused as a cover slab over the Eridanos river, north channel.
