Description:   Large inscribed base of grave monument.
Dimensions preserved complete, though at the bottom the projecting base-moulding has been broken away, and the under surface is preserved only near the middle of the block.
At the top, the corner ornaments are chipped, and the front right corner is broken away. Top surface rough picked, with a large shallow round cutting in the center. Back plain, picked fairly fine. Sides dressed with toothed chisel; on the left, a thin flat oval pendant in relief (tambourine?), projection ca. 0.012m; on each side of it, and below, an ivy leaf in low relief. On the right side, a pair of castanets (?).
The inscription given both in Greek and in Latin. The inscribed face, below the heavy crowning which is carried round all four sides of the block, is framed with a shallow cymation; the mouldings finished smooth; the face more roughly, with a toothed chisel. Above the moulding, the upper 0.105m. of the block is cut ca. 0.022m. and roughly dressed.
Pentelic marble.
