Title:   Iron Fibula
Category:   Iron & Lead
Description:   Four fragments, some possibly joining, preserving portion of fibula, including part of spring, pin, and perhaps catchplate. Very poorly preserved; heavily corroded and blistered, with most of the fragments still fused on to cremated human bone.
The positions of the fragments as mounted are estimated; there are no clear joins.
Probably the same type of fibula as IL 330.
Three additional fragments of cremated human bone preserve remnants of textile pseudomorph (P.L. largest frag. 0.036).
Remnants of a textile pseudomorph are preserved most clearly on the interior of the spring; similar traces of textile were found on the corrosion layer on several of the bones inventoried.

Context:   Grave 2.
Handling:   Mounted in position in ethafoam.
Psuedomorph fragile. Do not handle unnecessarily.
