Title:   Lamp with Mask on Nozzle: Inscribed

Description:   Mended from many pieces; half of the top of the nozzle missing, and small fragments from rim, wall and bottom.
Rim, impressed ovules; discus, concentric grooves and ridges; handle, large, double-grooved above, plain below, pierced; base, flat, very slightly raised and set off by a groove; nozzle, elongated; on its top in relief a satyr mask, the gaping mouth serving as the wick-hole.
On one side, neatly incised, the name: "ΠΡΑΚΛΙΔΟΥ".
Carefully made of thin buff clay (Corinthian?).
Type XXVII of Corinth collection.
Context:   House L, west of Room 5; second century fill.
