Description:   Mended from several pieces; handle broken off, and chips missing.
Massive lamp with bulging lower wall; over-hanging rim like that of type 16B. Neat bevelled ring foot, like that of some one-handlers.
Handle could have been U-shaped, or loop. Large wick-hole, encroaching only slightly on rim.
Thick black glaze inside and out. Reserved, inside of handle, and handle space; a line at junction of foot and wall; the resting surface of the foot, and the space inside the foot. On the reserved underside, a pair of thin concentric circles, and at the center, a heavier circle around a large dot.
Type 16B variant (?) of Agora collection.
Context:   Well beneath Stoa gutter.
