Title:   Two Nozzle Lamp
Category:   Lamps
Description:   Lamp with two opposite nozzles, two side knobs and central tube. Most of one nozzle missing. Fragmentary. Wheel made.
Rounding body, with high base; hollow conical tube passing from center of base through body; broken off before reaching height of sides. Close to the edge of the rather large filling hole, a small shallow groove; no distinct rim.
The sides of the lamp at the left of each nozzle, respectively, are preserved, but not at the right. On both of the preserved left sides a large, solid, projecting knob.
Thick nozzles, rounded on top, blunt ends slightly fluked, large wick hole.
Slightly metallic glaze, over all.
Apparently attic clay.
Type XII (early spreading variety) of Corinth collection, type 27D of Agora collection.
ADDENDA Lamps L 551 to L 559 found together. A number of fragmentary lamps from the same pithos have been boxed separately, along with the finer sherds. See also pottery 589-630.
