Title:   Seven Nozzle Lamp

Description:   Vertical band handle broken away. Fragmentary.
Double convex body, the lower part entirely missing.
Top sunken around filling hole.
Nozzles set at irregular intervals round the circular body of the lamp; the single nozzle completely preserved is rather short, rounded on top, with irregularly fluked tip and large wick hole.
Thin grayish black metallic glaze.
Attic clay.
Type XII (early spreading variety) of Corinth collection, type 34B of Agora collection.
ADDENDA Lamps L 551 to L 559 found together. A number of fragmentary lamps from the same pithos have been boxed separately, along with the finer sherds. See also pottery 589-630.
