Title:   Red Figure Skyphos Fragments: Type A

Description:   About half the rim, and one handle, with a large part of the wall, missing. Beazley, Form A.
On either side, a single draped standing figure: one, missing from the waist up, seems to be a man in an himation; the other, fully preserved, is a woman holding a box on her outstretched right hand. Beneath the handles, a large palmette with tendrils. Relief lines for fingers, toes, and drapery details. Firm glaze, rather dull, inside and out; the underside not glazed: decorated with concentric rings. Inside the raised foot, the surface was rubbed with pink.
