Title:   Red Figure Oinochoe Fragments

Description:   Eight non-joining fragments from wall, some of them mended.
a) Fragment showing nude youth seated right on rock covered with drapery; behind him, part of a flower(?) in white. Probably comes from a different jug. Fabric much thinner.
b)-h) Parts of three(?) figures; panel edge at right, maeander broken by checkerboard squares below. At right, standing female figure, draped and diademed, looking left; center(?), nude youth seated right on drapery; left(?), standing youth in cloak and petasos, holding a staff, right. Above the woman's head, the letter Σ. Partial relief contours; ground indicated by light incisions under glaze. Careful work.
Thin brown wash on lower part of interior does not appear on corresponding part of a); excellent glaze, dull on a).
Context:   Well, late 5th. c. B.C.
