Title:   Black Figure Chalice Fragment

Description:   Surface chipped away behind depiction of the pair of horses with thrown-back heads, leaving brown glaze vestige of a figure next to them. Ahead of the team (4 horses in all), part preserved of a human figure moving right. Rim flat-topped, outer edge dotted. Inside of vase glazed. Glaze brownish with light streaks (cf. head of foremost horse). Applied purple on alternate tongues of border below rim, on neck of third horse, and on upper part of human figure. Applied white (poorly preserved) on second (outermost) horse and on man(?). Details rendered by fine firmly drawn incised lines.
