Description: | Mended from many fragments. Profile preserved. Large portions of the body restored in plaster. Rim rilled on inward-sloping top and on outside, which projects and overhangs. Micaceous brown clay with smooth solid surface: slip? "The vase must have been made to stand on a tripod, as it could never have stood on its small base, nor have been lifted by its small handles." ADDENDA There are some remarkable scratches on the [ ] that suggest at first look, ancient and intentional, but these seem to come only around the plaster restorations and I think they have been made when the plaster was scraped down.
