Title:   Two-Handled Jar Fragments

Description:   a) One handle with a segment of the lip and much of the upper wall.
b) Part of the wall from just above the base to the handle zone, with part of an attachment for a second handle.
c) From the lower wall.
A tall jar, its lip inset for a lid and with horizontal ring handles rising vertically from the shoulder. On the shoulder on either side, a panel with spirals and hook spirals flanked by groups of vertical bars; inside the handles are groups of wavy lines. Around the wall are horizontal lines broken by a band of chevrons; around the base are long rays.
Pale yellow clay; fugitive brown glaze.
Context:   Tholos trench L, area of early road, layer 9.
