Category: | Pottery | |
Description: | Mended from three pieces, preserving part of wall and rim. The scene depicts satyrs and maenads, the best preserved of which is a satyr with lifted tail who bends and reaches to the right. Behind him is the upper part of a maenad facing to left. Beyond her head the surface, though badly worn, preserves traces of a satyr's head facing her; at the right edge of the fragment beyond the preserved satyr, white vestiges of maenad facing him. Red on hair and beards; white laid carelessly on the satyr's tail as well as the flesh of the maenads. Glaze fired brownish; thin and dull on figures. A few lines of incision on satyrs.
