Title:   Black Figure Chalice Fragments

Description:   Two fragments from a large open pot of uncertain shape (possibly a chalice?).
a) Broken all around. Interior: part of a broad black band and a broad reserved one. Exterior: lower parts of two female figures wearing long peploi with cloaks over them; uncertain objects at left. On the left hand figure the cloak is red, with an incised border; on the right hand figure the peplos is red. The feet were white.
b) [Fragment found later while going through sherds.] Broken all around. Interior: a reserved band, 0.05 wide, with black glaze on either side of it. Exterior: part of a bird and part of an animal. Added red and white on wing; added red on rump.
