Title:   Amphora: West Slope

Description:   Much of one side of body, with fragments of rim and base, and part of one handle missing. Restored in plaster. Broad-shouldered amphora with moulded foot and rather wide neck with out-turned lip. A scraped groove just below the lip; one at top and bottom of shoulder and two around foot. Twisted handles with masks at the lower attachments. Broad band of cross-hatching on shoulder, broken at center, front and back by a checkerboard. Ivy garlands on neck. All in thinned clay paint.
Firm dull black glaze.
Context:   Well, lower fill.
