Title:   Plate Fragment: West Slope

Description:   Fragment from side and rim of deep plate with upturned plain rim. Wall bound at top and bottom by pairs of grooves scratched through glaze; row of dots in white just below; then a large wreath; on one side, the wreath is a debased grape pattern, on the other, an ivy pattern: a torch between the two patterns. Two scraped grooves below.
Pinkish-buff clay. Black metallic glaze partly flaked. Decoration in firm added clay and white.
Context:   Cistern.
