Description: | Much of the upper part, except for chip of mouth, preserved; restored in plaster. Spherical body from which rises a high straight-sided flaring mouth. Breaks on inside show that originally there was a strainer where mouth and body join. Also edge of spout rising from top of shoulder preserved. Grooved strap handle, from middle of neck to shoulder. Two grooves around top of shoulder. Fair black glaze, somewhat flaked. Cf. P 6050 (Γ 1737). | |
