Title:   Red Figure Column Krater Fragment

Description:   From the rim of a column krater; trace of handle attachment at right.
Slanting palmette pattern on the slightly concave outer face; on the top, a wreath of olive, leaves and berries in white, stems in added clay; the wreath interrupted by an encircled palmette, between long narrow petals, all in red figure, on the handle plate. Band of egg and dot around the neck.
Fine red clay and good metallic glaze, worn.
Context:   "Foundary Pit", N-S cut on 50m. line, area of Stoa, layer VII, with slag. Second quarter of 4th. c. B.C.
