Description: | Fragment from a lekanis lid; black glazed beneath. Eros, right, kneeling on one knee, and holding a large alabastron in his outstretched right hand. In front of him on the ground, a box; facing him, over the box, a bird toward which Eros, in his left hand, extends a small round object. White for Eros's flesh, with yellow over-painting; his curly hair brown to black; brown details on his wings and on the bird; white for the small object. Added clay for Eros's fillet. | |
