Title:   Amphora Fragments with Graffito

Description:   Many fragments preserve part of the lip, one handle and most of the other, and parts of the neck and shoulder of a large glaze-banded amphora; restored in plaster to shoulder. Deep torus lip forming a continuous curve with short neck and broad shoulder. Rising band handles attached at neck. On outside of lip, handles, and lower part of shoulder, thin streaky black to brown glaze. A narrow reserved band below the lower handle attachment. The neck and upper part of the shoulder reserved and decorated: on one side two concentric bands around a dot, between two pairs of S's; the other side apparently the same but one pair of S's has disappeared. Glaze worn; nearly all gone from lip.
